Seminarium i Almedalen 2016

torsdag 7 juli

Den 7 juli kommer SKS och WiN att arrangera ett seminarium i Almedalen tillsammans.

Program Almedalen 2016

”Thank you very much för det svenska elsystemet”

– Sweden as climate and energy security supporter

Location:        M/S Sigrid, Visby Harbour

Time:               Thursday July 7, 10.30 – 12.

Hosts:              Swedish Nuclear Society (www.karnteknik.se) and

 Women in Nuclear (www.winsverige.se)

The clean Swedish electricity production implicates extensive climate gas reduction in other countries. Sweden is able to export large amounts of available electricity when neighbouring countries have large electricity demand or shortfall. Moreover, the Swedish electricity intensive industries export refined electricity in form of steel, paper and other products and avoid thereby emissions elsewhere.

Since this spring Sweden is interlinked with the Baltic electricity market through the cable Nordbalt. For the Baltic countries, the cable does not only mean access to clean electricity, but also reduced dependency on Russian gas import. How can Sweden secure these possibilities in the future?

Participants:

  • Dr. Sigitas Rimkevicius, director, Lithuanian Energy Institute:
Baltic region cooperation in the energy field. Regional solutions - national benefits
  • Bo Normark, chairman Vägval El, Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA)
  • Catharina Nystedt Ringborg, vice president, Global Utmaning
  • Helen Axelsson, Jernkontoret and SKGS
  • Harald Klomp, elstatistik.se

Hosts:

  • Maria Hövling, president Women in Nuclear
